Arvida inks a deal with Bose and Philips to market home entertainment in two large projects in Florida.

People come to Florida for the weather and affordable real estate. Now, thanks to master plan community builder Arvida, the builder’s new customers in Florida also will have access to high-quality home entertainment with audio from Bose Corp. and large-screen televisions from Royal Philips Electronics.

Ed Hill, president of Arvida’s central-Florida operations, says Arvida is rolling out the entertainment technology at its Victoria Park community in DeLand and at Artisan Park in Celebration. All homes in those communities built after Oct. 1, 2003, will be prewired for distributed audio and video.

Hill says that under the terms of the pilot agreement, the prewiring will be done by a home technology integrator trained by Bose and Philips. The two home technology vendors will display their products in Arvida model homes, where regional sales reps from the vendors will be available to answer questions from prospective home buyers.

“All our homeowners–whether they are young families, empty-nesters, or retirees–want to have the best entertainment experience,” says Hill.

Victoria Park will have 4,000 single-family homes on 1,859 acres at prices ranging from $150,000 to $600,000; Artisan Park will have a mix of single-family, townhomes, and condos on 175 acres at a starting price of $260,000.
