Builder Beware

At the end of previous housing booms, builders had a surplus of unsold homes, but stock market analysts believe that inventory is finally under control. In the past, small builders were largely responsible for the glut of speculative properties, but large builders have usurped most of the few developable parcels left in red-hot markets, while lenders have reduced small builders’ access to capital.
