7 cities at risk of rising seas

A recent report estimated rising sea levels for cities around the country due to climate change. Many coastal cities with residential areas near or below sea level would experience devastation and hundreds of thousands homeless. 24/7 Wall St. lists the seven cities at highest risk of being submerged in the next 40 years.

Rising sea levels isn’t a new phenomenon, and building and homeowners in these low-lying areas are thinking ahead. Advice to designers and developers in these problem areas? Design for surge conditions.
