Best Custom Kitchen / Grand Award

1 MIN READ

From everyday family meals to casual dinner with friends to a catered affair for 250—this kitchen is designed and equipped to handle it all. “It functions for the owners and the caterers without looking like a hotel,” said the judges.

Designer Pamela Bytner-Kilbarger used two workstations—a big, bright-yellow professional range and a large, granite-topped island—to create smaller areas within the large space. That makes the room more comfortable for everyday use while providing the efficient prep and cooking surfaces professionals need.

The kitchen is fully loaded with equipment to satisfy the fussiest chef, including two big refrigerators and a professional cooking-holding oven. But the detailed whitewashed wood cabinetry, display space for the owners’ dish collection, and barrel-vaulted ceiling ensure this functional space feels just like home.
