The married-with-children household propelled America’s prosperity from the mid-part of the past century though the mid-part of the past decade. Still, although married couples with children only make up a little more than one in five households, a key to economic recovery is the behavior of that 20-plus percent of households. Bloomberg/Business Week has teamed up with researcher Onboard Informatics to identify “The Best Places to Raise Your Kids 2011,” which looks at schools, safety, economics, recreation, etc., and finds that it’s mostly small towns that win the day for live-work balance for that increasingly rare breed of household, married-with-children.
