Excel Homes, a modular builder of stock plans and custom homes, is inviting stick builders to take a Web-based quiz, challenging them to identify the modular homes among the stick-built homes. Through Sept. 1, 2008, builders can visit either www.whichismodular.com or www.isitmodular.com, scroll through the house designs presented, identify the ones they think are modular, and enter a random drawing to win $100,000 toward their first Excel home.
The promotional quiz was conceived as a way to upgrade perceptions of the modular building process and educate builders on the benefits of Excel’s system and of modular construction in general. Any builder can take the quiz, but only those in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, Vermont, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, West Virginia, and Georgia are eligible for the drawing.
